Outline and Purpose of the Course About deep sea-bed mineral resources such as marine energy resources such as methane hydrate or oceanic oil, natural gas, bottom of the sea hydrothermal deposit, cobalt rich crust, a manganese nodule, the rare earth elements mud, I lecture on the latest information about the origin, a letter of product, quantity of natural resources, the present conditions of the development out of the country, the characteristic problem, marine policy in the marine resources development, ocean environment, the future prospects while introducing.
Course Goals ・ I acquire the posture that attendance oneself straight thinks about a marine resource, an energy problem deeply in a large field of vision.
・ I give the theme about the marine resource energy problem and develop ability to summarize the problem in briefly and clearly.
Schedule and Contents I think about a marine resource, an energy problem deeply while putting up a specific example, and explaining the phenomenon that I raise below by the class clearly.
The first: The sea and resources, birth of the life
The second: A climate change, global warming and marine relation
The third: Land resources and marine resource ① (hydrocarbon resources)
The fourth: Land resources and marine resource ② (metallic mineral resources)
The fifth: Basics of marine policy ① (including United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the marine fundamental law)
The sixth: Basics of marine policy ② (an exclusive economic zone, the development of the marine resource in the continental shelf and the use)
The seventh: Marine hydrocarbon resources ① (oceanic oil, natural gas)
The eighth: Marine hydrocarbon resources ② (methane hydrate)
The ninth: Marine mineral resources ① (bottom of the sea hydrothermal deposit)
The tenth: Marine mineral resources ② (cobalt rich crust, manganese nodule, rare earth elements mud)
The eleventh: Ocean energy resources (including the ocean thermal energy conversion)
The twelfth: Latest marine resources development situation ① (marine policy) to see to a marine white paper
The thirteenth: Latest marine resources development situation ② (marine safely marine environment) to see to a marine white paper
The 14th: Latest marine resources development situation ③ (marine resource) to see to a marine white paper
The 15th: Evaluation of the term-end examination / learning arrival degree
