Outline and Purpose of the Course In the course, we first offer the lecture regarding the basic knowledge of solid-state physics, then explain various thin-film making techniques widely used as manufacturing processes of semiconductor devices, solar cells, light emitting devices, etc.
Course Goals 1. To understand the electronic state inside solid-state materials and to cultivate the basic ability to understand the mechanism of expression of the materials’ characteristics.
2. To understand the operation principle of electronic devices utilizing the materials, and develop ability to understand the appropriate structure and manufacturing process.
3. To cultivate a comprehensive design ability that enables appropriate material selection, structural design, process selection for producing desired energy devices.
4. Nurture the ability of working on a report autonomously and continuously.
