Outline and Purpose of the Course Application of physical chemistry such as group theory to energy science will be discussed. Fundamentals of group theory and its applications to molecular orbital method, molecular spectroscopy, crystal field theory, etc. will be discussed in the lecture. Problem sets will be given in each class for deeper understanding.
Course Goals To understand the fundamentals of point groups and master its chemical applications to molecular orbital method, spectroscopy, crystal field theory, etc..
