Outline and Purpose of the Course In this advanced course, historical changes in educational technology, a research area born in the twentieth century, are examined in terms of theory, technology, practice, social background, significance, etc., in an attempt to achieve a deeper comprehensive understanding and construct an academic system. In addition, there will be an overview of future scientific and technological progress and the nature of society as it relates to education (structure, systems, culture, etc.), and future academic and social roles, values, and approaches toward educational technology will be examined.
Course Goals (1)To understand historical changes, basic concepts, and methods in the research area of educational technology; (2) To be able to engage in critical review of the literature in the field of educational technology; (3) To be able to formulate research plans in the field of educational technology.

Evaluation Methods and Policy [Assessment method] Overall assessment is made based on participation in classes and contributions through discussions and group work (20%), assignments (40%), research review and project presentation (25%), and final report and presentation (15%). [Assessment criteria] Assessment is against the course goals in accordance with the assessment criteria of the Graduate School of Education.
