Outline and Purpose of the Course This lecture gives an outline of disaster prevention and reduction countermeasures both inside and outside Japan with special reference to disaster information related topics. Concrete examples of disaster information systems are introduced to show that psychological aspect of information users under critical social conditions is carefully taken into account in such current disaster information systems.
Course Goals The goals of the lecture are:
1) to understand how academic knowledge is linked with practices or practical fields;
2) to understand the relation between human behaviors and disaster information and
3) to reflect the knowledge to the design and the assessment of information process system.
