| Outline and Purpose of the Course |
This class will offer guidance in experimental study and case study research on the economies of Asia and developing nations, taking the form of a participatory laboratory seminar including postdoctorate and graduate students from expert-level advanced courses. _x005F_x000D_ The seminar will be conducted primarily in English, with the use of Japanese as needed._x005F_x000D_ _x005F_x000D_ The purpose of this seminar is research supervision of the participants’ research on Southeast Asian or developing economies. This seminar is conveyed jointed with Mieno Lab. This seminar consists of doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers._x005F_x000D_ The seminar is conveyed mainly in English and occasionally Japanese-based. |
| Course Goals |
The goal of the seminar is for participants to learn the fundamentals of empirical analysis of Asian economies and economic development required to investigate their research topics. The seminar also seeks to instill in students the knowledge to perform econometric statistical analysis. _x005F_x000D_ The seminar aims to instruct basic knowledge on Asian economies, economic development, and empirical methodology to enhance the capacity to analyze various topics related to students’ concerns. This seminar will progress primarily via reports by participants. Group readings and training in empirical analysis will be included as appropriate. _x005F_x000D_ The seminar will mainly consist of presentations by the participants and discussion.
