Outline and Purpose of the Course East Asia has various types of economies, for example transitional economy, planning economy, development economy and market economy. By introducing these economies, we learn that we need various type of approach including Marxist economics, transitional economics, and development economics.
Therefore, professors will not only introduce East Asian economies but also teach the basic points of such approaches.
Course Goals It can be expected that participant students obtain basic knowledge and analytical framework to understand East Asian economies in the context of social sciences.

Study outside of Class (preparation and review) 1. Participant students are supposed to check the contents of material for lecture before each round of lecture.
