Outline and Purpose of the Course Protein engineering has made a lot of progress. Today, protein engineering is indispensable for research in which protein is handled, Students will learn basic and advanced contents of protein engineering. Students will also learn industrial application of protein engineering.
Course Goals Students will be able to well understand the research in which protein engineering is used.
They will be able to propose a method in which protein engineering is used.
Schedule and Contents I will make a lecture on the following five subjects (135 min/subject)

No. 1: Basis of genetic engineering, Amplification and analysis of gene.
No. 2: Gene clonging, Introduction of mutation into genes.
No. 3: Gene expression, Protein purification.
No. 4: Altheration of enzyme function.
No. 5: Analysis of structure and function of enzymes.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Sutudents take an examination in each class or tern in term paper regarding each class.
We mark each examination or term paper on a scale of 20.
We make a grade by adding each score.

Refer to '2020 Guide to Degree Programs' for attainment levels of evaluation.
Examination will be based on attendance, performance of presentation, and participation in discussion.
