Outline and Purpose of the Course This course aims to study general animal science and learn how to conduct experiments with domestic animals, analyze the data and interpret the results.
Course Goals Learn the basic skills needed to conduct experiments on livestock resources.
Schedule and Contents Basic analysis and measurement experiments required for livestock resource assessment
Students will measure the digestion rate of feedstock and conduct various chemical analyses and quantitative experiments on the biological samples of feedstock and livestock tissues.

Practical training in surveys and measurements for livestock resource assessment
Students will learn the principles and techniques measurements related to livestock resources by gaining hands-on experience in tracking the feeding behavior of range cattle and taking intake measurements, and surveying grassland vegetation and obtaining grass measurements.

Practical training in system analysis
Students will gain hands-on experience in computer-assisted data entry and processing, as well as computer programing and statistical processing methods.

System analysis for livestock resource assessment
Learn the specific methods of modeling and simulating livestock production systems, develop a model for the targeted livestock resources, conduct a simulation, and pursue and assess an optimal production system.

Practical training in field surveys
Students will travel to the region they are investigating, and conduct a survey on the livestock resources in the region and the rearing environment from a broad perspective.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Evaluation will be based on attendance and performance in field practicums.
Course Requirements The course is designed for students specializing in animal husbandry resources.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Students must have a full grasp of the experiment in advance and do a thorough review of what they have done after the experiment.
