Outline and Purpose of the Course 1. Topics on weed science are reviewed and presented. Discussions on the topics are made.
2. Special lectures on weed science by guest scientists are made.
Course Goals Students will gain a wide variety of accurate, applicable, and innovative knowledge of weed biology and weed control, and be able to read and understand related articles to acquire new findings and to develop critical reading skills. In addition, students will acquire advanced presentation skills.
Schedule and Contents  Introduction of academic papers (24 sessions)
   Students will introduce ad discuss highly current and significant academic papers related to weeds and weed control written from practical and innovative perspectives published in Japan and overseas.


 Report on research projects (6 sessions)
   Students will be asked to report the methods and outcomes of their research projects and lead Q&A sessions and debates on relevant issues and future plans.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Grading will be based on an overall assessment of attendance, the quality of outlines and presentations, and commitment to projects. Refer to current year's 'Guide to Degree Programs' for attainment levels of evaluation.
Course Requirements Completion of Weed Science I and II is desirable.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Read outlines handed out in advance thoroughly to gain a better understanding of the subject matter.
Review materials on a weekly basis. Study applicable and innovative topics instructed in class.
