Outline and Purpose of the Course Introduction and discussions with research papers and articles dealed with plant breeding and genetics
Course Goals By introducing academic papers related to their research themes and engaging in discussions with their classmates, students will develop the ability to delve deeply into the historical background of the research areas and their future prospects.
Schedule and Contents Introduction of research papers:
Students will provide an overview of research background and describe research papers in detail in an easy-to-follow manner using PowerPoint slides. In addition, students will present a short review of several related papers and introduce the current state and issues of a specific research area.
Theme: Photoresponsivity and organ differentiation in rice plants

Evaluation Methods and Policy Evaluation will be based on attendance and responses to questions following the presentation.
Course Requirements Basic knowledge of plant breeding, genetics, and molecular biology.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) It is very important to do as much research as possible on the cited references in the research papers to be presented and previously published studies to lay the groundwork for a meaningful discussion. In addition, students must make an extra effort following the seminar to summarize the topics discussed and to further investigate any unresolved issues or questions.
