Outline and Purpose of the Course Students plan and conduct research on topics that are related to crop evolution and plant genetic resources under the guidance of advisor. The research must be completed for the thesis of Master degree.
Course Goals Master the experimental techniques necessary to explain the evolution of cultivated plants.
Schedule and Contents  Students will select their research theme and prepare a research plan, and conduct research under the advice of the supervisor. Gain the experience necessary to become a researcher, including delivering oral presentations and preparing scientific papers.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Evaluation will be based on the student’s commitment to experiments and results obtained.
Course Requirements Background knowledge: evolution of cultivated plants; plant genetic resources, evolutionary biology, genetics, plant breeding.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Students are expected to preview their basic knowledge of experimental techniques.
