Outline and Purpose of the Course Students are asked to present current topics related to physiological function of food published in the scientific journals in class under supervise of faculties. Through the presentation and discussion of the topics in the class, student shall obtain the knowledge and ability to pursuit own master thesis.
Course Goals Develop presentation skills;
Build logical reasoning skills by participating in discussions and develop the ability to work independently and consistently on projects.
Schedule and Contents Students will give oral presentations on scientific papers related to one or more of the topics below, and answer questions from the class audience.
Students will report on the progress of their research and experiments twice every half term, and once on their accomplishments at the end of every half term, and discuss their findings with the rest of the class.
1. Food ingredients and intake response

2. Food ingredients and metabolic response

3. Digestion and absorption processes and metabolic mechanisms of bioregulators

4. Bioregulators that affect the nervous system

5. Bioregulators that affect the immune system

6. Bioregulators that affect the circulatory system

7. The structure-activity relationship of bioregulators

8. Production of bioregulators in organisms

Evaluation Methods and Policy  Evaluation is based on presentations and Q&A.
