Outline and Purpose of the Course This seminar aims to introduce and discuss recent published scientific articles on animal science including animal nutrition, animal breeding, animal production systems analysis.
Course Goals Learn the basics of animal husbandry resources and acquire the necessary techniques.
Schedule and Contents The current state and utilization of food and feedstock around the world
  Students will read a variety of publications on issues related to food and feedstock, and discuss them in class.

The current state of feeding practice and management of livestock and approaches to improvement
  Students will read the most current studies on the production and use of livestock around the world and discuss them in class. 

Modeling and simulation of livestock production systems
  Students will read recently published studies involving the modeling and simulation of a livestock production system and discuss them in class.

The current state and utilization of food, feedstock, and genetic resources in tropical and subtropical zones
  Students will read a wide variety of publications on various issues surrounding food and feedstock of livestock in tropical and subtropical zones and discuss them in class.

Distribution and conservation programs of livestock genetic resources in Japan and around the world.
  Students will read publications on the distribution and conservation programs of various types of livestock genetic resources in Japan and around the world and discuss them in class.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Grading will be based on an overall assessment of attendance and the content of presentation.
Course Requirements The course is designed for students specializing in animal husbandry resources.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Students are expected to prepare for each seminar by reading relevant scientific papers and review them thoroughly after seminar.
