Outline and Purpose of the Course To shape up English listening and speaking skills, participants may bring subjects from newly published research papers, introduce contents of the paper and make free discussions each other.
Course Goals To keep the points of the contents of academic papers accurately and cultivate the ability to clearly present them in English. To cultivate the ability to explain the contents of experiments and the experimental results obtained in English.
Schedule and Contents The following research subjects will be discussed.
1. Proliferation and differentiation of germ cells to oocytes and sperm.
2. Fertilization of gametes and in vitro culture.
3. Biotechnology such as in vitro fertilization, transgenic technology, nuclear transfer etc.
4. Cell differentiation and dedifferentiation
5. Regulation of gene expression and nuclear reprogramming. Any other topics that perticipants would like to introduce can bring up for the discussion.
Evaluation Methods and Policy The point of reference will be the number of attendance, activity of discussion and communication skills.
Course Requirements The guidance will be held at the first day of the lecture. Students who would like to join this lecture should attend the guidance.
