Outline and Purpose of the Course Lectures and seminars will be provided on the advanced theories and their applicability in research, concerning information collecting and utilization related to food and agricultural economics, based on various research papers and studies.
Course Goals Learn how to collect information on food and agriculture and analyze previous studies using collected data, and be able to propose approaches to improving the previous studies.
Schedule and Contents Weeks 1 to 4: Current approaches to statistical data application (an examination of how statistical data is collected in a typical social economy and how to use the data in research)
Weeks 5 to 7: Current approaches to statistical data collection in food and agricultural fields (an examination of the current approaches to collecting statistical data on various aspects of agricultural production process, food industry and food consumption)
Weeks 8 to 11: International trends in approaches to statistical data collection and application in food and agricultural fields (an examination of the research trends on how statistical data in food and agricultural fields is collected and applied to research in leading industrial nations)
Weeks 12 to 15: Future directions of data collection and application in food and agricultural fields (an examination of the advances in data collection and application in food and agricultural fields and the future prospects in research) 

The course content is subject to change depending on progress.
 
Evaluation Methods and Policy Evaluation will be based on criteria such as the content of reports and attendance, as well as contribution to class discussion.
