Outline and Purpose of the Course This lecture gives the fundamental and applied knowledge about groundwater, which is an important factor for the adequate water management in a region. The existence form of groundwater, groundwater flow, chemical reactions in groundwater, solute transport in groundwater, and so on are described. Especially we focus on chemistry of groundwater.
Course Goals Relating to diploma policy of master's course, "Attain a high level of specialized knowledge and understanding of research techniques with regards to problems concerning food for mankind, regional and global environmental conservation, production and use of living organisms and the mechanisms involved in the development of life", the attainment target is to understand the physical and chemical aspects on groundwater and to consider the future groundwater management for the sustainable groundwater utilization.
