Outline and Purpose of the Course |
We will practice translating Vietnamese documents that students need for writing their pre-doctoral theses (master’s theses) into Japanese and improve the students’ ability to read Vietnamese. |
Course Goals |
Through practice of reading newspapers and dissertations, we will try to read and understand the outline without dictionaries. |

Evaluation will be made based on attendance and class participation. |
Course Requirements |
This course is for persons who have studied elementary Vietnamese. Since we will be translating Vietnamese into Japanese, the class is limited to students who have a suitable level of ability in Japanese. |
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) |
Before attending the class, students have to translate the Vietnamese text into Japanese. |
