Outline and Purpose of the Course Over two thousand years from unification all under the heaven by First Emperor of the Qin (221 B.C.) to the abdication of Emperor Xuantong of the Qing, the despotic state in that emperor centralizedly control people by using officials.
This despotic state was the “zhonghua empire”that regards itself as “zhonghua”and surrounding ethnic groups as “siyi." Political culture grown under the “zhonghua empire”leave a trace even today, the twenty first century. This lecture analyzes characteristics of the despotic China by overviewing the historical process before the Qin's unification.

The twelfth: The Eastward Transfer period
The thirteenth: The first half of the early Spring and Autumn period: The small hegemony of Zhuanggong of the Zheng state
The fourteenth: The latter half of the early Spring and Autumn period: The hegemony of Huangong of the Qi state
The fifteenth The middle Spring and Autumn period: The hegemony system of Wengong of the Jin state
