Outline and Purpose of the Course The purpose of this course is to develop research on the "economics of imperfect competition" based on industrial organization theory and competition policy theory.
Course Goals Through study, the aim is to write a bachelor's thesis on a theme that is broadly aligned with the outline above.
Schedule and Contents First, we will begin by round-reading "Demonstration Business Economics" (serialized in "Economic Seminar," https://sites.google.com/view/keisemi-ebiz/) by Kamitake, Toyama, Wakamori, and Watanabe (about 2 months). Next, practicum participants and the person in charge will consult with each other to decide the content. Note though that the focus will be on reading recent academic papers and commentary papers.

If necessary, we will also practice using software. In that case, it is assumed that each person can use a notebook PC.

This is also a consultation with participants. Note that we will hold a training camp for 1 night and 2 days in the suburbs during September.

In addition, since the time may be extended as appropriate, do not schedule a part-time job or so on during the time after the practicum.
Evaluation Methods and Policy We will comprehensively evaluate various activities in the exercise, such as the content of the report, degree of contribution to the discussion (e.g., through comments), and the quality of various submissions.
Course Requirements It is assumed that you have done microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics according to the curriculum.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Voluntary study meetings in the form of so-called sub-seminars outside of seminar hours are recommended.
