Outline and Purpose of the Course In the first semester of this seminar, we concentrated on microeconomics. For the second semester, we will be discussing introductory to intermediate level macroeconomics, focusing primarily on completing exercises in order to deepen our understanding. Furthermore, students will be putting macroeconomic methods into practice, experimenting with analyses of various real-world problems.
Course Goals Students will be learning about the structure and theoretical models underlying macroeconomics, and secure an understanding of how to solve exercises at an introductory to intermediate level.
Schedule and Contents During each seminar, each participant will be taking turns in reading out a section of a text on a pre-specified topic, and taking part in solving exercises. Each session will involve a combination of a presentation from a designated student, and an overall discussion of the subject.
We will proceed according to the following schedule:

Session 1. Orientation
Session 2-14. Working through Chapters 1-14 of the textbook, at a pace of about one chapter per class
I will be informing students about the methods for feedback at a later date.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Grade evaluation will be made based on the quality of the assigned presentation (50%), the end of semester report (30%), and class performance (20%).
Course Requirements Students should be passionate about learning, and willing to proactively participate in seminars. Please note that students who wish to take this class are required to enroll in both the first and second semesters.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) For each topic, students are required to read the assigned text and solve the exercises on their own.
