Outline and Purpose of the Course In this seminar, students will learn about the basics of international economics and various issues related to the international economy. In the spring semester, we read a standard textbook of the international economics and solve exercises in the textbook. By doing so, students learn both theoretical and empirical analyses in the international economics.
Course Goals The aim of this seminar is to understand the basics of the theoretical and empirical analyses in the international economics and to become able to apply these techniques to the analysis of various issues in international economy.

 
Schedule and Contents In each week, assigned presenters will present the contents of one chapter and all members participate in discussion. Chapter exercises will also be solved in the class.

Week 1: Guidance
Weeks 2-14: Read one chapter and solve exercises in the chapter in each week.
Week 15: Feedback
Evaluation Methods and Policy The performance will be evaluated according to factors such as the presentations on the assigned sessions (50%), reports on exercises (40%), and regular participation (10%).
Course Requirements The student intending to attend are suggested to have acquired credits in Introductory Microeconomics and Introductory Macroeconomics.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) You will be expected to read the textbooks and solve the exercises before each seminar.
