Outline and Purpose of the Course The course determines "What is management?" in the general economic environment, especially within companies, and determines what a "manager" is--what do they do? Taking this as a basic perspective, this course uses a case study method to focus on the historical establishment process of the management strategy of a manufacturing company, especially tracking the decision-making process by management. It will also clarify why companies sometimes adopt mutually contrasting strategies and follow-up management strategies in competitive battles. This is the first part. The second part examines when companies advance to foreign countries with such a management strategy--using case study to determine what circumstances will lead to the maintenance and correction of the basic strategy in competitive battles in the global market--and discuss the international management strategy. The third part will discuss the viewpoint of modern management as obtained from the above historical considerations.
Course Goals Students will understand and acquire the management strategies of companies that extend to the present day by generative historical methods, cultivating the viewpoint of application ability to modern management. Students will also understand and acquire the international management strategies of companies that have been able to reach the present day by using the developmental historical methods, fostering the perspective of application to modern international management strategies.
