Outline and Purpose of the Course [Sustainable Development and Public Policy: Fiscal and Environmental Economics ①]
In the practicum, the theme is the ideal form of public policy for sustainable development. This is based on knowledge of finance and environmental economics. The purpose of the third- and fourth-year practicums is to have students gradually learn through practice how to decode, understand, and summarize contents, and how to proceed with a presentation and participant debate. This will be done by reading the text in these fields in the first half of the year. Acquiring various skills for intellectual production here will also be useful for intellectual work after entering society.
Course Goals In this practicum, the theme is the ideal form of public policy for sustainable development. This is based on knowledge of finance and environmental economics. During the three student practicums, during the first six months of the year, while reading the text, the aim is to ensure gradual learning through practice about how to decipher texts, how to understand and summarize their content, and how to proceed witha presentation and participant debate. Acquiring various skills for intellectual production here will also be useful for intellectual work after entering society.
Schedule and Contents Every year, we run seminars in the following ways:

[1] Round-reading and discussion of textbooks on public finance and environmental economics
In this seminar, we will learn a series of intellectual work procedures, namely summarizing, presenting, and discussing the contents through reading textbooks on public finance and environmental economics. For the texts to be read round-reading style, I would like to select the latest and best works in the fields of finance and environmental economics. Through these round-readings, you will be able to reach a basic understanding of each discipline. In addition, this seminar emphasizes discussions between seminar students. Based on the text reading, the reporter raises a question and discusses it with other seminar students in a group or with the whole class. Training in these discussions from the second year is important regardless of what courses you take in the future.

[2] Seminar training camp and field survey
In this seminar, a new "welcome" camp will be held in May and an in-semi preparation camp will be held in September to prepare for the in-seminar with Keio University and to build friendships with the students. At each opportunity, we will conduct a local community development survey (visits and interviews).
