Outline and Purpose of the Course For the 2nd year student seminar during the second semester, students will be participating in group and applying the foundational knowledge in accounting and corporate analysis that they learned in the first semester. This seminar aims to help students deepen their understanding of accounting by working through the following process with respect to the group's selected topic: summarizing previous research; deciding upon a research topic; drafting a research plan; carrying out the research plan; giving a presentation of the research results.
Course Goals Students will be learning how knowledge of management accounting can be utilized in real-world scenarios, discovering new areas to investigate, and developing foundational competency when attempting to resolve a given problem.
Schedule and Contents This seminar for 2nd year students is designed to run for two semesters. During the second semester, students will be primarily focusing on group research, utilizing the foundational knowledge in accounting and corporate analysis that they learned in the first semester. The results of this group research will subsequently be presented and discussed at joint seminars with other universities in September and December, helping students further deepen their understanding. Finally, students will be required to write group research reports. The second semester seminar is intended to be run jointly for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students.

The schedule for the second semester is as follows:

Week 1: Research topic presentation (discussion focusing on confirmation of area of interest) and orientation summarizing prior research
Week 2: Group research work (guidance on key points for conducting research and writing papers)
Week 3: Research topic presentation (discussion about concrete research questions)
Week 4: Group research work (guidance on methods for gathering resources)
Week 5: Research topic presentation (discussion focusing on summarizing and understanding previous research)
Week 6: Group research work (guidance on research methodology)
Week 7: Research topic presentation (discussion focusing on research methodology)
Week 8: Group research work (guidance on methods for gathering and handling resources)
Week 9: Research topic presentation (discussion focusing on data)
Week 10: Group research work (guidance on analytical methods)
Week 11: Research topic presentation (discussion focusing on analytical results)
Week 12: Group research work
Week 13: Research topic presentation (overall discussion)
Week 14: Group research work
Week 15: Final research topic presentation
Evaluation Methods and Policy Grades will be given based on participation.
