Outline and Purpose of the Course The basic theory of environmental economics and the ideal way of policy will be discussed while paying attention to environmental problems and trends in environmental policy in the real world. The aim of this course is for students to understand the basic idea of the economic approach to environmental problems, and to gain basic knowledge about environmental issues from an economic perspective based on the development history of environmental economics.
Course Goals To acquire basic knowledge about the theory of environmental economics and its application to environmental policy. Specifically, to learn the background of environmental problems caused by economic development and the theoretical background of the impact of environmental problems on the economy, and to clearly understand economic approaches to environmental problems.
