Outline and Purpose of the Course The purpose of this lecture is to study economic theories ranging from the mercantilism of the 16th century to Keynesian economics in the 20th century, explain the history of economic development, and explore how these economic theories are used in modern economics.
Course Goals The course objective is to understand how these economic theories affect the formation of modern economics by studying the history of economic theory as well as to acquire a broad economic perspective.
Schedule and Contents Lectures will be devoted to the following topics for one or two weeks each.

1. Introduction
2. Mercantilism, Physiocracy
3. Smith's Economics
4. The Economics of Ricardo
5. Marx's Economics
6. Neoclassical Economics: Marginal Revolution
7. Neoclassical Economics: Cournot's Economics
8. Neoclassical Economics: The Economics of Walras
9. Keynes' Economics
Evaluation Methods and Policy Evaluation through final exam
Course Requirements Basic knowledge of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Students should read the lecture notes in advance and grasp the contents. After the class, students should review and solve the practice questions.
Textbooks Textbooks/References Not used. Lecture notes will be uploaded on the given webpage, which the students should obtain in advance before attending the lecture.
