| Outline and Purpose of the Course | In recent years, the skills of analysis using computers have become important in various fields, including economics. In this course, students learn basic knowledge and concepts for understanding computer behavior and processing, and exercise statistical analysis, numerical calculations and analysis, and document writing using various software. | ||

| Schedule and Contents |
In this course, each of the following topics will be addressed for two to four weeks. - Computer and operating systems - Statistical processing (R) - Numerical/mathematical calculations (MATLAB/Octave) - Document writing (LaTeX) |

| Evaluation Methods and Policy | Evaluation is based on three reports. | ||
| Course Requirements | Students should have mastered computer literacy and elementary mathematics (Linear Algebra including Matrix operations, Calculus, and Statistics). Mathematics will not be taught in this course. It is strongly recommended that students take "Introduction to Information Processing" or any course of computer literacy and mathematics courses before taking this course. | ||
| Study outside of Class (preparation and review) | Lecture materials are basically distributed before each session, so students should review them in advance. | ||
