Outline and Purpose of the Course | To acquire an understanding of metabolism, which is a fundamental topic in biochemistry essential for understanding life phenomena. | |||

Lectures will cover the following topics: Day 1: Glycolysis Day 2: Citric acid cycle Day 3: Gluconeogenesis, glycogen metabolism, pentose phosphate pathway Day 4: Quiz, electron transfer system Day 5: Photosynthesis Day 6: Lipid metabolism Day 7: Quiz, summary of first half Day 8: Food digestion and absorption, regulation of food intake Day 9: Transport, storage, and mobilization of nutrients Day 10: Characteristics of metabolic enzymes and their regulation Day 11: Quiz, bioenergetics Day 12: Amino acid metabolism Day 13: Nucleotide metabolism Day 14: Quiz, summary of second half Review and explanation of the final examination |

Evaluation Methods and Policy |
Evaluation will be based on the final examination scores (70% weightage) and quiz results (30% weightage). The evaluation criteria and achievement level are in accordance with the "Evaluation Criteria and Achievement Level" described in the Student Handbook of the Faculty of Agriculture for the relevant year. |
