Numbering Code U-AGR03 3C125 LJ83 Year/Term 2022 ・ First semester
Number of Credits 2 Course Type Lecture
Target Year 3rd year students Target Student
Language Japanese Day/Period Tue.2
Instructor name FUJISAWA KAZUNORI (Graduate School of Agriculture Professor)
Outline and Purpose of the Course Being able to solve beam, truss and frames based on the knowledge of material mechanics learned in applied mechanics (subject number C115) as well as the theory of statically determinate/indeterminate beams. Learning about the relationship between the "virtual work principle" and various theorems, and the finite element method.
Course Goals - Understanding the difference between statically determinate and statically indeterminate.
- Understanding the relationship between the force equilibrium equation and the virtual work equation.
- Being able to solve beams, truss, and rigid frames without statically determinate and indeterminate, and understanding what is useful.
Schedule and Contents 1st Introduction: statically determinate and statically indeterminate
2nd Statically determinate beam (Review)
3rd Statically indeterminate beam (Part 1)
4th Statically indeterminate beam (Part 2)
5th Statically indeterminate frame (Part 1)
6th Statically indeterminate frame (part 2)
7th Mid-term test and evaluation
8th Statically indeterminate truss
9th Principle of virtual work for truss (Part 1)
10th Principle of virtual work for truss (Part 2)
11th Principle of virtual work for beam (Part 1)
12th Principle of virtual work for beam (Part 2)
13th Castigliano's theorem, virtual work equation and finite element method
14th Final test and evaluation
15th Feedback (answers and explanation of test)
Evaluation Methods and Policy A quiz (40%) will be given in almost every lecture, and there will be mid-term test + final test (60%). Evaluation criteria and level of achievement will be based on the "Evaluation Criteria and Level of Achievement" section in the student handbook of the Faculty of Agriculture for the relevant year.
Course Requirements You have taken Applied Mechanics (C115).
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) - Preparing the contents learned in Applied Mechanics according to the item.
- If you were not able to solve each quiz item, review them or ask questions.
