This class explains the damages of buildings in 1985 Mexico City Earthquake through the computer simulations.
Course Description
On September 19, 1985, Mexico City was struck by an earthquake of magnitude 8.1, which was the most catastrophic in the history of the Americas. Within the primary damage zone, about 20% of the buildings from 6-15 stories in height suffered structural damage. In this class, the damages of buildings in 1985 Mexico City Earthquake are explained through the computer simulations. This class also introduces Mexican architecture in the 19th and 20th centuries.
