Outline and Purpose of the Course |
In this course, we will learn fundamental knowledge regarding linguistics and language analysis using Japanese as a theme. Specifically, students will make presentations based on a linguistics research primer on the subject of Japanese as a textbook. By having all participants discuss the topics, we aim to have students proactively comprehend the methods of language research. |

Master fundamental knowledge of linguistics through presentations and discussions. Cultivate practical skills for applying this to actual language analyses, based on the knowledge acquired. |

Schedule and Contents |
Each item in the textbook will be assigned to a student, who will be responsible for summarizing and presenting the content. All students will then discuss the content. Details on class procedures will be explained in the first class session. The following is the planned schedule. Evaluation Methods and Policy | Comprehensive assessment based on around two presentations (50%), several quizzes (30%), and active participation in discussions (20%). | |||

Study outside of Class (preparation and review) | Students will be asked to participate in class having read the textbook in advance and having understood the content to some extent, including the sections not assigned to them. In preparing to present their assigned items, they will need to not only summarize the textbook content assigned to them, but also investigate other materials on their own. | |||
