Outline and Purpose of the Course | In this course, we read the Latin text of Thomas Aquinas's De Veritate (On Truth). We will consider the notion of truth in Aquinas. | |||
Course Goals | This course intends to be an exercise of reading texts written in scholastic Latin. We will see how Aquinas discusses various problems concerning truth. | |||
Schedule and Contents |
We will read closely the Latin text of Aquinas's disputed question on Truth, Question 1. In this semester, we shall start at article 5. Week 1: Introduction to the relevant literatures and distribution of copies of the Latin text to the participants. Week 2-14: Closely reading the text. Week 15. Feedback |
