| Outline and Purpose of the Course | この授業では，我々の言語生活において重要な位置を占める「話し方」について，音声学～歴史言語学・社会言語学的な観点からの基本的なアプローチを学び，人間の言語のあり方に関する基本的な知識を得ることを目的とする． また同時に，英語で書かれた学術的な文章を理解し，平易な日本語に置き換えることができるようになることを目指す． | |||
| Course Goals | 日常のコミュニケーションの中で人間が発話をどのようにおこなっているのか，そこで身体がどのように働き，その中で音声がどのように生まれるのかについて，英語で書かれた文章を読むことによって理解する． | |||

| Evaluation Methods and Policy | 平常点（テキストの内容に関する質問にどれだけ答えられるか）（50点満点），期末の筆記試験（50点満点）により評価する． | |||
| Course Requirements | 論理的な長文の英語を読む能力と，人間の言語に関するごく基本的な知識を前提とするため，対象回生を「2回生以上」とする． | |||
| Study outside of Class (preparation and review) | 質問に答えられるよう，毎回，十分な準備（論文内容の把握，わからない場合「どこが，どのようにわからないのか」の特定）が必要．期末の試験はテキストの和訳以上のものが要求されるので，授業内容の復習も必要． | |||
