Outline and Purpose of the Course	This course is designed to enhance participants' discussion skills in English. All the social,economical, and political issues will be includedc politics. The way the class is operated will be dependent on the number of participants, but we will have discussion classes first and then move to debate classes.
Course Goals	Students will be able to think and discuss important current issues in English.
Schedule and Contents	Lecture 1 Introduction Lecture 2-13 phase 1 practice of English reading and discussion Lecture 13-15 phase 2 debates on current issues and post mortem
Evaluation Methods and Policy	Participation (50%) and debate performance (50%).
Course Requirements	Intermediate English abilities are desirable.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review)	Students will be required to select and present themes of discusssion or debate and related articles in English. All the participants are expected to read them in advance.
