Outline and Purpose of the Course Momentum, heat and mass transport phenomena for gas phase are lectured for understanding physical and chemical processes in hermal energy conversion systems. Furthermore, fundamental process of chemical reaction of combustion is mentioned.
Course Goals Understanding following matters;
(1) Momentum, heat and mass transport process based on fluid dynamics and heat transfer.
(2) Chemical reaction system for combustion and rate process in combustion.
Schedule and Contents (1) Basic idea of rate process and equilibrium (1 week)
(2) Flux (2 weeks)
(3) Transport phenomena of momentum, heat and mass based on molecular kinetics (2 weeks)
Solid ball model and potential model
Similarity of transport phenomenon
(4) Transport phenomenon in a turbulent flow (2 weeks)
(5) Basic idea of turbulent transport and its modeling (1 week)
(6) Chemical reaction system and elemental reaction (2 weeks)
(7) Combustion (2 weeks)
(8) Combustion process in turbulent flow and its modeling
Turbulent flame propagation and turbulent diffusion flame
Auto-ignition process (2 weeks)
