Outline and Purpose of the Course The purpose of this course is to provide students with a basic understanding of the physicochemical, structural, thermophysical, mechanical, and chemical properties of agricultural properties as well as a practical understanding of the non-destructive quality evaluation and its data analyses.
Course Goals By the end of the course, students should obtain knowledge about the non-destructive evaluation methods for agricultural products and their data analyses and be able to select the suitable approach to take the necessary information about the quality by themselves.
Schedule and Contents 1. Physicochemical properties of agricultural products(2 classes)
2. Structural characteristics related to physicochemical properties of agricultural products and their non-destructive evaluation
3. Thermophysical properties of agricultural products and their non-destructive evaluation
4. Mechanical properties of agricultural products and their non-destructive evaluation
5. Non-destructive sensing of chemical components in agricultural products
6. Chemometrics for non-destructive evaluation of agricultural products
Evaluation Methods and Policy Grades will be determined by your scores both on quiz (40%) and report (60%).
