Outline and Purpose of the Course | The course covers linear and non-linear models, mixed model methodology, likelihood based-procedures and Bayesian methods, with emphasis on use in genetic evaluation, whole genome prediction, and marker- and gene-assisted and genomic selection. | ||
Schedule and Contents |
1-3 weeks of classes are scheduled for each of the topics covered in this course, including the following: 1) (Non-) linear models and fixed and random effects 2) Analysis of variance and the method of least squares 3) Mixed-model methods and the (restricted) maximum likelihood approach 4) Bayesian methods 5) MAS and GAS 6) Whole genome evaluation and selection 7) Reading and discussing academic papers |
