Outline and Purpose of the Course The course covers linear and non-linear models, mixed model methodology, likelihood based-procedures and Bayesian methods, with emphasis on use in genetic evaluation, whole genome prediction, and marker- and gene-assisted and genomic selection.
Schedule and Contents   1-3 weeks of classes are scheduled for each of the topics covered in this course, including the following:

1) (Non-) linear models and fixed and random effects
2) Analysis of variance and the method of least squares
3) Mixed-model methods and the (restricted) maximum likelihood approach
4) Bayesian methods
5) MAS and GAS
6) Whole genome evaluation and selection
7) Reading and discussing academic papers
Evaluation Methods and Policy Evaluation will be based on attendance and a report examination.
