Outline and Purpose of the Course Each student will select a suitable journal article in a foreign language that deals with the basics and application of horticulture and present on it. All participants will discuss what has been presented in order to deepen their understanding. The teaching staff will provide comments linking current issues in horticulture.
Course Goals To correctly understand a scientific article on horticulture and be able to explain the study's originality and contribution.
Schedule and Contents A total of 30 classes will be held on every Monday throughout the year. Students will be asked to select an article from the latest foreign language academic journal on horticulture, and read it carefully. They will be asked to produce and submit a handout containing the key points and present on the article based on those points. In each class, one or two students will present, and each student will present three or four times in the year. Questions from students are welcome at any time, and responses will be given in the feedback period.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Students' performance will be comprehensively assessed based on attendance, the presentation, and their attitude to tasks. Assessment criteria and policy are drawn from "Assessment criteria and policy" in the current version of the Faculty of Agriculture Student Handbook.
Course Requirements Students should have basic knowledge of horticulture.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Be sure to distribute the handout by the set date and prepare for discussion on related topics and articles.
