授業の概要・目的 This course aims to offer a space to personally related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adapted at the United Nations in 2015, and stimulate one’s creativity and pro-activity to address them. More specifically, the participants would deepen the understanding for SDGs, and develop business ideas to contribute to the achievement of SDGs. Social entrepreneurs and SDGs experts will share their knowledge and experience to stimulate the participants' entrepreneurial minds.
到達目標 Students’ will expand the understanding for SDGs and be more conscious of their own roles and responsibilities to address SDGs.
Students’ creativity and entrepreneurial minds will be enhanced by developing their own business ideas and making a pitch.
授業計画と内容 1. Introduction (Murai, Kuno)
Briefing of the course flow, content, assignments, and schedules, etc
2. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): (Murai)
What SDGs are about - context, challenges, etc
3-4. Social Entrepreneurship (Kuno, & other social entrepreneurs )
What “Social Entrepreneurship” is; How to develop business model;
5. Students’ initial business idea presentation
Students present their initial business idea to address any themes of SDGs
6-7. SDGs in depth (experts from International Organizations、Non-governmental Organization, Corporations)
The needs on the ground, various efforts to address them, and the gap to fill
8. How to develop business model; and Pitch best practices (Halcyon House staff www.halcyonhouse.org) - pitch practice workshop to follow after the class
9. Students’ initial pitch on their business ideas and group feedback
10-12 Global Social Enterprises; live examples and investors' perspective (a few social entrepreneurs from different parts of the globe)
Learning from the predecessors
13 Business idea pitch practice and feedback individually (Kuno, Murai)
14 Students’ Business Proposal Showcase (External judges, Kuno, Murai)
Students make a pitch on their business idea in front of the external practitioners, responds to questions, and receive feedback.
15. Summary and Reflection (Murai, Kuno)
What is learned from the course, and how to utilize in real life, going forward; Students' feedback for the course
成績評価の方法・観点 50% Class attendance and contribution by actively participating in the discussion, and doing the assignments for each class;
35% Business proposal content (originality and coherence) and effectiveness of the pitch
15% An essay
履修要件 平成29年度後期に「グローバル社会起業特論1」、「Global Social Entrepreneurship - theme Climate Change Management」を履修した者は、本講義は履修不可
The students who already have reigisterd「Global Social Entrepreneurship - theme Climate Change Management」in 2017 academic year, can not register this class.
