Outline and Purpose of the Course (Aim) Through laboratory experiments, this course aims to equip students with an understanding of how to approach research and draft research plans, as well as experimental techniques, data sorting, and problem-solving skills.

(Summary) This course will entail conducting research in biophysical chemistry and structural biology.
Course Goals To acquire the ability to conduct pioneering research in biophysical chemistry and structural biology, i.e., develop skills in evaluating research results, drafting research plans, reproducing the latest experiments and developing new experiment techniques, data analysis, and problem solving.
Schedule and Contents 1-15: The following experiments will be conducted:
・Research to clarify the action mechanisms of antimicrobial peptides and development in drug discovery
・Research on through-membrane amyloid formation mechanisms
・Research on the solubilization of membrane proteins
・Research on receptor visualization analysis
・Research on structural analyses of biological molecules using NMR
・Research to clarify the structural basis of ABC transporter mechanisms and their application in drug discovery
・Research on the structural basis of peroxisome membrane protein transport mechanisms
・Research to clarify the structural basis of biological clock mechanisms
・ Research on the structural factors in enzymes and receptor functions
・ Research on advanced X-ray crystallography methods
Evaluation Methods and Policy Students will be comprehensively evaluated based on their attitude and approach in day-to-day research.
