Outline and Purpose of the Course 日本の企業と産業を国際的な視野から見て、その特徴を理解する。特に、日本経済の国際競争力の向上と低下を発展的、体系的に考察することを主眼とする。この授業は、日本の経済とビジネスをJICA(独立行政法人国際協力機構)と協力して、JICA開発大学院連携の一部として学習する機会を与えます。なお、この講義では、基本的には英語を共通言語として運営する。

The balanced examination of the characteristics of Japanese firms and industries from internationally-comparable perspectives. The particular focus will be placed on the rise and decline of the international competitiveness of Japanese economy from developmental and systematic points of view. The course gives students an opportunity to learn about Japanese economy and business in collaboration with the Japan InternationalCooperation Agency (JICA) under the Development Studies Programme.This course will be conducted in English as a teaching language.
Course Goals 受講生は、日本の企業と産業について、グローバルな視点からバランスの取れた体系的な知識を経済学と経営学を応用しながら習得する。

Students are expected to acquire the systematic and balanced knowledge of the industries and businesses of Japan by applying the basic approaches of economics and management.

Evaluation Methods and Policy 期末試験(60%)、授業の出席、発言等の積極的参加 (40%)。                                 
Final examination (60%), class attendance and participation (40%).
Course Requirements 経済学、経営学の体系的な知識は特に必要としない。現実の産業と企業の市場競争への活発な関心が要求される。 聴講の学生については、事前に教員に連絡をして許可を取ってください。聴講学生の人数には制限があることを了解してください。                                    
No systematic knowledge of economics or management is required. Active interest in market dynamics of industries and businesses are a prerequisite. Please note that audit students are required to have an appointment for interviews with the professors before class starts. The number of audit students will be limited.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) 受講生は事前に配布される資料を読んだ上で授業に参加すること。

Students are expected to come to the class after they read the assigned materials that will be distributed at the classroom.
Textbooks Textbooks/References 特に指定されたテキストは用いない。毎回PPT資料を配布し、さらに必要に応じて、文献のコピーを配布する。
No specific textbooks are used. Copies of PPT slide and necessary articles and documents will be distributed.
