授業の概要・目的 This course intends to offer: 1) overall understanding of the mission, role, operational modality, and corporate culture of the Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) namely referring to the World Bank Group (WBG); and 2) insights into the project development and management and career management in such entities. For this purpose, several current and former professionals from WBG and other MDBs will share their knowledge, experience, and perspective; and run two workshops, one on project development and management and the other on career management.
到達目標 Attendants should gain good understanding of the mission, role, and operating modality of MDBs as countries address their socio-economic development challenges; and in realizing the world of shared prosperity in sustainable ways. The Course also aims to stimulate career interest for the work of MDBs.

Briefing of the course flow, content, assignments, and schedules, etc
2. Mission and Operating modality of the World Bank Group (Murai)
3-4 Country Partnership Strategy - lecture. ( Sato - former Vietnam Portfolio Manager, WBG): on the framework for lending, knowledge management, and policy dialogue and project management cycle
5-8 Country Partnership Strategy - workshop (Sato): Simulation exericse to prepare Country Partnership Strategy for a hypothetical client country in small groups
9 International Finance Corporation(IFC): Mission and Operational modality
10 Multilateral Insurance and Guarantee Agency(MIGA): Mission and Operating modality (guest)
11 Corporate culture and Talent sought after (Murai)
12-13 Mock Interview & Career Conversation Workshop (Murai):

成績評価の方法・観点 Class attendance and participation - 50%
Quality of presentaion at the end of Country Partnership Strategy Workshop (class 5&6) - 25%
Essay at the end of semester - 25%
履修要件 No prior course requirements .Commitment to actively participate in the discussion and workshops during the course is required.
授業外学習(予習・復習)等 Reading and viewing assignments should be done prior to the assigned course. Group work requires a few hours of preparation out of the class.
