授業の概要・目的 The objective of this course is to introduce strategic, planning and operational issues relating to effective and efficient management of supply chain. We begin by introducing key concepts, model frameworks and the performance drivers and metrics of supply chain management. Case examples of supply chain management (SCM) such as DELL, Apple, Walmart, Seven-Eleven Japan, Bharti Airtel, Peapod, Webvan and Amazon will be discussed among other cases. These examples shall show how specific drivers impacted performance of their respective supply chains. The course shall then proceed to discuss demand forecasting, network optimization and aggregate planning models & techniques. Finally, it shall cover wide areas of inventory management including management of demand and supply side risks in a supply chain.The course will give special emphasis on conceptual issues and techniques in supply chain strategy and planning. Students will be encouraged to think how as entrepreneurs they can use SCM concepts and tools in order to manage their start-ups – in particular, how their businesses can enhance value for all stakeholders and secure a better world for the humanity.
